The Perfect Coach for the Imperfect Athlete

A recreational runner turned coach, Ashley Thompson's approach to running makes the sport accessible to a wide-range of people. Ashley's coaching experience includes being Head Coach and owner of ACT Running in Austin, Texas; leading the Austin YMCA 5K and 10K team, DetermiNation (the American Cancer Society's endurance team), Austin Runners Meetup and Team Footworks (South Miami, Florida). She has coached hundreds of everyday athletes in Austin, Texas to the 5K - 13.1 distance. She has been a Personal Trainer at the YMCA since 2015 and has over 15 years experience as a Team Building Facilitator. As a mother of two, she understands the challenges of fitting exercise into life and appreciates the "attitude adjustment" a good run brings.

Training Plans:

Become A Runner - This is intended for absolute beginners or those returning from an injury or 3+ month hiatus. It includes supplemental training (including core and strength), tips of the week and uses walk breaks to build to 3.1 miles.

Coach Ashley is a Level II Road Runners Club of America distance running coach, a ACSM certified personal trainer, and has worked with hundreds of every day athletes (in person training) in Austin, Texas.
